  • Worlaby Academy’s first ever ‘Book Snooze

    Children, parents and staff from Worlaby Academy rolled up to school in pyjamas,with their pillows, blankets and sleeping bags in hand, as well as a selection of their favourite books ready to enjoy a brilliant book snooze. A range of exciting story sacks were on hand for children to explore and staff members were available to give support with any issues or questions surrounding the children’s reading development.     On February 5th 2015, me and Jay erupted our volcano. It smelt really bad. I wish I could do it again!

    The whole school took part in skip to the beat.

  • Class 2 learn to build structures!

    For part of class 2's Structures topic Mr Bontoft an ambassador from STEM spent a day with class 2 teaching them about structures.

    Their first activity was to make 1 sheet of A5 paper as strong as possible. 

  • Visit from Simon Spark

    21st October 2014

    Class 3 have been learning about journalistic writing and we were extremely lucky to receive a visit from Simon Spark (Look North reporter) today. Mr Spark showed us the equipment he uses to record his interviews and he spoke to us about what his job involves. We learnt a lot, but we are not sure we would like to be a journalist after hearing about the early starts!

  • Visit from Scunthorpe Telegraph

    20th October 2014

    On Thursday 16th October we had a visit from Shaun Ringwood from the Scunthorpe Telegraph. He was alerted to a news story at Worlaby Academy following the crash landing of a space ship in our playground!

    Mr Ringwood came to talk to us about the role of a journalist and invited us to write a page of news for the Scunthorpe Telegraph. WATCH OUT FOR THIS!
